چکیده
Neurological complications in hepatitis are common, and in most cases a polyneuropathy is described [1]. Cerebrovascular complications are rare but mostly seen in association with a systemic vasculitis or a cryoglobulinemia [2–4]. We describe an unusual case of cerebro-vascular findings associated with hepatitis C. Case Report A 48-year-old woman was admitted with right facial pain and an MRI suggestive of a right internal carotid artery (ICA) dissection. No further neurological deficit was noted but a right Horner syndrome. The patient had no vascular risk factors besides hypercholesterinem-ia. The family history did not evidence any stroke. Next day, she noticed left neck pain. Ultrasound revealed new dissections of the

Anatomical Variations of Circle of Willis in 57 Human Brains
Purpose: The circle of willis is responsible for blood supply of brain, which may suffer from anatomical variations. These disturbances can lead to aneurysm or even arterial rupture. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the anatomical structure of the cerebral arteries forming the circle of willis in adult cadavers. Also, cerebral versus non- cerebral versus non-cerebral arterial walls wer...

Background and Objective: Previous studies have been shown that serum level of C-reactive protein (CRP) is significantly correlated with mortality and functional outcome in patients with ischemic stroke. Some studies point to specific vessels involvement according to different serum level CRP. The aim of this study was to investigate the association between serum C-reactive protein level ...

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Arteriopathy is the leading cause of childhood arterial ischemic stroke. Mechanisms are poorly understood but may include inherent abnormalities of arterial structure. Extracranial dissection is associated with connective tissue disorders in adult stroke. Focal cerebral arteriopathy is a common syndrome where pathophysiology is unknown but may include intracranial dissect...

Background: Previous studies show that serum level of uric acid is significantly correlated with mortality and functional outcome in patients with ischemic stroke and according to some other studies, ischemic stroke is associated with stenosis of some stenoisis of somespecific brain vessels. The aim of this study was to investigate the frequency of hyperuricemia and its associa...
